Carnival of Gran Canaria arrives
The Carnival of Gran Canaria is one of the most important festivals in the Canary Islands. It is celebrated every year in the island’s capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world.
In fact, the carnival in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the island’s capital, is known for its spectacular float parade, costume contests, and the contagious energy that fills the streets during this time.
Specifically, this year the festivities, declared of International Tourist Interest, extend from January 25th to February 18th.
On the other hand, the theme of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival for 2024 is “Carnivals of the World,” promising a celebration full of diversity and color. The most outstanding events include the Grand Parade, which runs through the main streets of the city, and the Queen’s Gala, where participants wear stunning costumes designed by talented local artists.
In addition to traditional activities, the Carnival of Gran Canaria 2024 will also feature some new additions. For example, there will be a new venue for the parades, located in Santa Catalina Park. There will also be a new costume contest for people with disabilities.
Later on, the International Carnival of Maspalomas is scheduled to take place from March 9th to 19th. The Parade will be held on March 18th and will travel through the streets of Maspalomas, offering attendees the chance to enjoy the music, dance, and stunning costumes that characterize this festivity.
