The orography of Lanzarote makes it the perfect destination for extreme or action sports, such as cycling. In this sense, the Ultrabike Club Santa Rosa Lanzarote is one of the most established and iconic mountain biking events in the Canary Islands. Today, on the First Minute Excursions and Last Minute Transfer blog, we bring you news about the eleventh edition of this event. It comes with major new features and a significant leap in organizational quality.
Ultrabike Club Santa Rosa in Lanzarote
This year, the race has been included in the International Cycling Union (UCI) calendar. This is a recognition of the work carried out over the past ten editions, positioning it on the international mountain biking scene.
The Ultrabike Club Santa Rosa Lanzarote will take place over two days, on May 3 and 4, 2025. The event kicks off on Saturday with the traditional 16 km time trial on the island of La Graciosa. This route stands out for its natural beauty and has been a hallmark of the event since its beginnings.
The 4th may, the two main races will be held on Lanzarote. On one hand, the Ultrabike Santa Rosa, featuring a demanding 105 km circular course. On the other hand, the Bike Costa Teguise, a 52 km route, both starting and finishing in Costa Teguise.
An event for all levels
The event’s structure allows for the participation of both professional and amateur cyclists, with routes adapted to different levels of demand.
Participants can choose between challenging themselves in the main 105 km race or enjoying a more accessible experience in the 52 km distance. Additionally, the option to participate in only one of the stages or both makes the Ultrabike an inclusive event, open to all MTB enthusiasts.
One of the great attractions of the Ultrabike Club Santa Rosa is its course through the unique landscapes of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, crossing vineyards, volcanoes, ravines, and white sand beaches.
The organization places special emphasis on sustainability and respect for the environment, implementing waste management measures and conducting environmental studies beforehand to minimize the race’s impact.
If you are in Lanzarote and feel the call of the bike, don’t hesitate to check out the Ultrabike Club Santa Rosa. You will surely find a group of people who share your passion, ready to share routes, challenges, and the incomparable experience of cycling across an island seemingly designed to be enjoyed on two wheels.
