Carnival arrives in Lanzarote, and with it, different municipalities celebrate their own themed festivities. Today, on the First Minute Excursions and Last Minute Transfer blog, we talk about the main themed carnival celebrations in Lanzarote.

Themed Carnival Celebrations in Lanzarote

Just like in Gran Canaria, Lanzarote features several special festivities for Carnival 2025.

Arrecife: “Disney World”

The capital of Lanzarote has chosen “Disney World” as the central theme for its carnival celebrations. This event, running from February 21 to March 9, 2025, will include a wide range of activities, from costume contests to the famous Drag Queen Gala.

Puerto del Carmen: “Alice in Wonderland”

The Carnival of Puerto del Carmen will focus on the theme “Alice in Wonderland”. This imaginative theme promises to take participants into a world full of fantasy and creativity from March 6 to March 8.

Haría: “Star Wars”

Additionally, the Carnival of Haría, taking place between March 21 and March 23, 2025, has chosen “Star Wars” as its theme.

Teguise and Costa Teguise: “The World of Television”

The Carnival of Teguise and Costa Teguise, running from March 14 to March 28, will revolve around the theme “The World of Television – Teguise in Prime Time.”

San Bartolomé and Playa Honda: “Pixartolomé, A Carnival of Animated Stories”

From February 23 to March 7, this municipality immerses itself in the world of animation with the theme “Pixartolomé, A Carnival of Animated Stories.” The festivities include:

  • Children’s Carnival on March 2
  • Daytime Carnival on March 4
  • Afternoon Carnival in Playa Honda on March 6
  • Entierro del Guachinango (Burial of the Guachinango Fish) on March 7

Other Themed Carnival Celebrations in Lanzarote

In addition to the previously mentioned celebrations, there are other special themed carnivals across the island:

  • Tinajo: “Pirate Corsairs”, from March 14 to March 26
  • Playa Blanca and Yaiza: “Beautiful and Beloved Mexico”, from March 27 to March 30
