The spectacular weather that the Canary archipelago maintains throughout the year allows it to host numerous sporting events. A good example of this is the Gran Canaria Bike Week 2024, which we talk about today at FirstMinute Excursions and LastMinute Transfers.
Gran Canaria Bike Week 2024 will be held on the island from December 1 to December 8. During the different stages of the event, various points of the island will be visited.
Gran Canaria Bike Week 2024
The first stage will take place on December 1. This is the “Gran Fondo Pico de las Nieves”, which offers three different levels between Telde and Pico Las Nieves. The Starter level covers a distance of 25 Km, with a positive elevation gain of 600 m. The Advance level will cover a total of 88 Km, with a positive elevation gain of 1600 m. Finally, the Escalada level will consist of a total of 138 Km and a positive elevation gain of 3522 m.
December 2 will be a free day to enjoy everything the island has to offer.
On the third day, the route will start and end in Maspalomas, covering a total of 93 Km and 2930 m of accumulated elevation gain. It will pass through Tejeda, Fataga, Cruz Grande, Mirador de Tunte, Ayacata, the dam road, Fagagesto, Hoya Pineda, and Gáldar.
On December 4, the route will cover 96 Km with an accumulated elevation gain of 1922 m, in an estimated time of five and a half hours. This stage will start in Gáldar and end in Maspalomas.
The following day, the route will be shorter, covering a total of 44 Km with a positive elevation gain of 810 m. Starting and ending in Maspalomas, it will pass by Palmitos Park, Mirador de Ayagaures, and Mirador de Pedro González.
The stage on December 6 will cover 75 Km and an accumulated elevation gain of 1795 m. Starting and ending in Arucas, it will pass through Buenlugar, Azuaje, Moya, Juncalillo, and Pinos de Gáldar.
On the penultimate day, the route will cover 92 Km and 1895 m of accumulated elevation gain. Again, Maspalomas will be the start and end point of the stage, also passing through Puerto Rico, Puerto de Mogán, Pie de la Cuesta, Piccolo Stelvio, Presa de las Niñas, Ayacata, Tunte, Fataga, and Degollada la Yegüa.
Gran Canaria Bike Week 2024 will conclude on December 8, with a stage of 53 Km and 730 m of positive elevation gain. Participants will start in Maspalomas, reach Taurito, and return to the starting point.
