Anfi del Mar is one of the most iconic beaches in Gran Canaria, located in the municipality of Mogán, in the south of the island. This artificial beach, created in the 1990s by a Norwegian entrepreneur, was designed to emulate a Caribbean atmosphere, using white sand brought from the Bahamas. Its location in a bay provides calm waters, making it an ideal destination for families and those seeking a relaxing day in the sun. We discuss it in our FirstMinute Excursions and LastMinute Transfer blog.

Discovering Anfi del Mar

Anfi del Mar beach stands out for its fine white sand and crystal-clear waters with minimal waves, thanks to the breakwaters that protect it.

This makes it particularly safe for children and perfect for water activities. Among the available options, visitors can enjoy sports like kayaking, paddle surfing, parasailing, and wakeboarding, making it an attractive spot for adventure lovers.

In addition to its natural attractions, Anfi del Mar offers a wide range of services, including showers, restrooms, sunbeds, umbrellas, and a dining area. There are also shops and a nearby supermarket, providing convenience for visitors.

But Anfi del Mar is not just a place to relax on the beach. Visitors can explore the artificial island of Maroa. Shaped like a heart, it offers a space for swimming and snorkeling in clean waters. This island is accessible only by stairs, adding a touch of exclusivity to the experience.

The surroundings of Anfi del Mar also include a palm-lined promenade, where various dining venues and a shopping center can be found. This allows for a varied gastronomic offer and a lively atmosphere, ideal for evening strolls.

To reach Anfi del Mar, you can take the GC-500 from Arguineguín, continuing for approximately 4 km towards Puerto Rico. It’s important to note that vehicle access to the beach is restricted. Therefore, it is recommended to park nearby and walk to the beach.
