Gran Canaria has a vibrant cultural life that is well worth discovering. On this occasion, from the blog of First Minute Excursions and Last Minute Transfer, we bring you news about Gáldar en Flor, which is about to begin.

Discovering Gáldar en Flor

The city of Gáldar, in Gran Canaria, is celebrating the fifth edition of Gáldar en Flor, an event that will fill the town’s historic center with color and fragrance from April 30 to May 20, 2025.

The exhibition will be officially inaugurated on Wednesday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. As is tradition, Capitán Quesada Street and the surroundings of Santiago Square will be the heart of this floral event. These areas will be transformed into a true open-air garden, attracting both residents and visitors.

During the event, thousands of flowers and plants will beautify the heart of Gáldar. Among the species on display will be geraniums, sunflowers, daisies, hydrangeas, ferns, petunias, gerberas, and many other carefully selected varieties for the occasion.

The plants and flowers showcased come from local nurseries such as Viveros Godoy S.L., Poinsettias de Canarias S.L., Viveros Gáldar S.L., and also from the municipal nursery of the Gáldar Town Hall.

The event is organized by the Department of Parks and Gardens of the Gáldar Town Hall, under the direction of Nicolás Mederos Díaz. As every year, the spring edition of Gáldar en Flor is inspired by the traditional “Flower Week,” held in December. However, it takes advantage of the botanical richness of spring to offer a unique experience.

The 2025 edition will include various artistic and creative novelties, which will remain secret until the opening ceremony, promising to surprise attendees and further enhance the event’s appeal.

An event worth experiencing

Gáldar en Flor has become one of the most anticipated dates on the municipality’s cultural and environmental calendar. The event not only promotes a culture of caring for public spaces but also celebrates natural beauty in one of Gran Canaria’s most iconic settings.
