New exposition of C\u00e9sar Manrique: “C\u00e9sar Manrique. It\u2019s a pleasure”<\/strong><\/h2>\n

C\u00e9sar Manrique is the soul of \u00a0Lanzarote<\/a>, very important for people living in Lanzarote. This year it\u2019s the centenary of his birth and there are a lot of events and celebrations. Among them, we should mention that last October the 30th, the king Felipe VI attended the inauguration of the new exposition of C\u00e9sar Manrique: “C\u00e9sar Manrique. It\u2019s a pleasure”.<\/p>\n

The king, visited \u00a0Lanzarote for the first time since he has been designeted. The event took place at 12:00 hrs by C\u00e9sar Manrique Fundation of Lanzarote, that has been opened to the public since 7pm that day.<\/p>\n

An important exposition<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The exposotion counts with more than 400 pictures about the life of the artist, from a professional and personal point of view.<\/p>\n

The visitor can see a total of 17 audiovisuals, with 10 documentaries in which different characters from the cultural world, exress their feelings about the artist.<\/p>\n

On the other side, at the exposition will be possible to appreciate different works, located in different rooms of his house\u00a0 Taro de Tah\u00edche. There are paintings of\u00a0 Manrique, ceramics of the 1950s, reproductions of his carnival masks, and many personal objects. Personal items of the artist are exposed with objects of expositions of the past.<\/p>\n

Manrique close to the visitor <\/strong><\/h2>\n

The aim of this new exposition about C\u00e9sar Manrique is to reduce the distance between the visitor and Manrique as public character. The artist wanted to be recognized as a painter, but thanks to his artistic skills he become a mediatic icon.<\/p>\n

Manrique has been a mediatic artist who anticipated new artistic expressions. According to the speech of the director of C\u00e9sar Manrique Fundation: “Manrique developped an aesthetic of the pleasure that transformed art in life and life in art of living”<\/em>.<\/p>\n
