This event has established itself as the only international triathlon in Gran Canaria and one of the most prominent sports events on the European calendar. We talk about it on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lastminute-transfer.com\/\"><strong>Last Minute Transfer<\/strong><\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/firstminute-excursions.com\/\"><strong> First Minute Excursions<\/strong><\/a> blog.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"415\" data-end=\"462\">Challenge Mog\u00e1n Gran Canaria 2025 is coming<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"464\" data-end=\"669\">This triathlon turns Gran Canaria into the world epicenter of triathlon, bringing together over 50 professional triathletes from 21 different nationalities, along with hundreds of amateur participants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"1052\">The event has broken records for professional participation, featuring an elite lineup including names like Jonathan Brownlee from the UK, Zaira Lorenzo from Tenerife \u2014the only local professional\u2014 and 2024 champion Marta Lagownik. Also attending are top Spanish triathletes such as Sergio L\u00f3pez, Diego Mart\u00edn, Gonzalo Fuentes, Joan Reixarch, and Ander Segurola.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1054\" data-end=\"1275\">International presence is guaranteed with athletes from countries such as Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, and the United States, among others.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"1277\" data-end=\"1304\">Race formats and routes<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1306\" data-end=\"1367\">Challenge Mog\u00e1n Gran Canaria offers several race formats.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"\" data-start=\"1369\" data-end=\"1389\">Middle Distance<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1391\" data-end=\"1636\">The main event is the Middle Distance triathlon. The course includes 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km of cycling, and 21.1 km of running. Athletes will take on a demanding yet beautiful route that showcases Gran Canaria\u2019s diverse landscape.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1638\" data-end=\"1899\">The swimming segment will take place in the crystal-clear and sheltered waters of Anfi del Mar beach. Participants will complete a two-lap circuit, starting and finishing on the same beach, creating a spectacular race start with views of the Atlantic Ocean.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1901\" data-end=\"2374\">The 90-kilometer bike route consists of four laps between Anfi del Mar and Taurito (not reaching the Taurito roundabout). This route will test the endurance and skill of the triathletes, offering a varied terrain with some climbs and descents, and stunning views of the island\u2019s southwest coast. Aid stations will be available every 20 kilometers to ensure proper hydration and nutrition. It&#8217;s important to note that drafting is not allowed in this segment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2376\" data-end=\"2612\">The 21.1-kilometer run will follow a five-lap circuit starting and finishing at Anfi beach. The route will run parallel to the sea at all times, providing a motivating coastal backdrop for the final stage of the competition.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"\" data-start=\"2614\" data-end=\"2632\">Other formats<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2634\" data-end=\"2824\">In addition to the middle distance, Challenge Mog\u00e1n Gran Canaria 2025 will also feature a Short Distance format:<br data-start=\"2754\" data-end=\"2757\" \/>1.9 km of swimming, 42 km of cycling, and 12 km of running.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2826\" data-end=\"3044\">The short-distance bike segment will consist of two laps between Anfi and Taurito, while the run will cover three laps around Anfi beach. There will also be a relay option available for the middle distance.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"3046\" data-end=\"3079\">Safety and quality guaranteed<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3081\" data-end=\"3420\">The event organizers have placed a strong emphasis on safety and quality for both athletes and spectators. The bike route will be completely closed to traffic, ensuring the safety of all participants.
