Gran Canaria is full of attractions worth visiting, far beyond its wonderful beaches. One of the most sought-after destinations is Roque Nublo, which will soon have an access control system. Today, on the blog of First Minute Excursions<\/strong><\/a> and Last Minute Transfer<\/strong><\/a>, we\u2019re talking about the new access to Roque Nublo, starting this February.<\/p>\n

New Access to Roque Nublo in February 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Starting February 3, 2025, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria will implement a regulated access system to the Protected Area of Roque Nublo. The goal is clear: to preserve this iconic natural site and ensure a sustainable experience for visitors.<\/p>\n

Those interested in visiting Roque Nublo must make a free reservation through the website www.grancanariasenderos.com<\/a>, which will be available from January 15, 2025.<\/p>\n

Each user will be able to manage up to five reservations, specifying the day and time of their visit. It is important to note that reservations will be subject to availability, with a maximum of 300 people allowed in the area at any given time, reducing current visitor numbers by half.<\/p>\n

Exceptions<\/h3>\n

As often happens, there will be important exceptions.<\/p>\n

Residents of the municipalities of Tejeda and Artenara will be exempt from making reservations but must present documentation proving their residency to access the protected area.<\/p>\n

Additionally, school visits can be organized for groups of up to 60 people per day, and tour companies will have a quota of 30 people every two hours.<\/p>\n

Penalties will be implemented for users who do not use at least 80% of their reservations, preventing them from making new requests for a certain period.<\/p>\n

Parking and Transportation<\/h3>\n

To reduce traffic congestion and environmental impact, parking will be prohibited near Roque Nublo, including the area known as Degollada de la Goleta, the main access point.<\/p>\n

Instead, a bus service will be provided, operating every 30 minutes between 9:30 AM and 6:00 PM. One of the main stops will be located in Tejeda\u2019s parking lot, with a journey of approximately 30 minutes to the trailhead. Another stop will be at Cruz de Los Llanos, with a journey of about 10 minutes.<\/p>\n

Finally, it is worth noting that these initiatives aim to mitigate overcrowding and preserve the natural environment of Roque Nublo. It currently receives between 1,800 and 2,000 daily visitors on the busiest days. With this new access to Roque Nublo, the use of public transportation is encouraged, promoting the sustainability of the area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
