The Fotosub Gran Canaria is gearing up for its fifteenth edition in 2024, solidifying itself as one of the most prominent events on the underwater photography calendar.<\/p>\n

This prestigious competition, taking place from September 30 to October 6, attracts the best underwater photographers, offering a unique platform to showcase the hidden beauty beneath the waters of the Canary Islands.<\/p>\n

Fotosub Gran Canaria 2024<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Fotosub Gran Canaria has become a highly relevant event for both local and national audiences. Over the past decade, it has attracted more than a thousand participants in its various activities, gaining increasing appeal among visitors to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.<\/p>\n

The event is organized by the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, through its Department of City and Sea, and is sponsored by various public and private entities. Its main objective is to promote and highlight the rich marine life and natural surroundings of the Gran Canarian capital, with a special focus on Las Canteras Beach.<\/p>\n

Participants in the Fotosub, equipped with state-of-the-art underwater cameras, dive deep to capture marine life in its purest form. Fish, crustaceans, algae, and rock formations take center stage in the images competing in various categories.<\/p>\n

The 2024 Fotosub will include several competition categories. First, there\u2019s Night Fotosub, to capture images of nocturnal marine life\u2014a world full of mysteries and surprises.<\/p>\n

Then, there\u2019s the Open Fotosub, where photographers have full creative freedom to showcase their personal vision of the underwater world.<\/p>\n

Finally, there\u2019s the Hunt Fotosub, which involves capturing images of specific marine species, following set rules.<\/p>\n

An Educational Event<\/h3>\n

This contest also features the participation of professional divers, naturalists, and marine biologists, who collaborate to document and share the richness of the Canary Sea.<\/p>\n

Over the years, the photos submitted to the Fotosub have been published in specialized magazines, exhibited in art galleries, and used in environmental awareness campaigns, helping to promote ocean protection on a global scale.<\/p>\n
