Today, we embark on a tour of some of Gran Canaria&#8217;s most outstanding museums of Gran Canaria on our <a href=\"https:\/\/firstminute-excursions.com\/\"><strong>blog<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>A cultural journey: discovering the Museums of Gran Canaria<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Casa de Col\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We begin our journey in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the island&#8217;s capital, at the Casa de Col\u00f3n. This museum is located in a picturesque manor house which is said to have been visited by Christopher Columbus on his voyage to America in 1492. The Casa de Col\u00f3n features 13 exhibition rooms that cover the history of the island, the age of discovery, and sea routes to America, in addition to a rich collection of art and temporary exhibitions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Museo Canario<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Also in Las Palmas is the Museo Canario, a must-visit for those interested in the pre-Hispanic history of the Canary Islands. Founded in 1879, this museum houses one of the finest collections of archaeological artifacts from the ancient Guanches, the first inhabitants of the Canary Islands. Here, visitors can learn about their way of life, religious beliefs, and funeral practices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elder Museum of Science and Technology<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For lovers of science and technology, the Elder Museum, located in Santa Catalina Park, offers a variety of interactive exhibitions covering topics such as physics, biology, astronomy, and geology. With its motto &#8220;Not touching is prohibited&#8221;, this museum provides a fun and interactive educational experience for all ages.<\/p>\n<p><strong>N\u00e9stor Museum<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the Vegueta district, we find the N\u00e9stor Museum, which pays homage to N\u00e9stor Mart\u00edn-Fern\u00e1ndez de la Torre, one of Gran Canaria&#8217;s most iconic artists. This museum houses a large collection of his works. It includes paintings, drawings, and sketches, in addition to documents and personal items that offer a more intimate insight into his life and work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cueva Pintada<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In G\u00e1ldar, in the northwest of Gran Canaria, Cueva Pintada is both a museum and an archaeological park.
